Cultural Performance Guidelines

‘தமிழர் திருநாள் ஆஸ்திரேலியா 2026′, தைப்பொங்கல், இயற்கை மற்றும் பல்லினக் கலாசாரங்களைக் கொண்டாட விக்டோரியா வாழ் தமிழ் ஆஸ்திரேலியர்களை ஓரிடத்தில் இணைக்கின்ற ஒரு நிகழ்வாக அமைகின்றது.

2010 ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்ட இந்த நிகழ்வு, இன்று தமிழ் ஆஸ்திரேலியர்களின் உயிர்ப்பான இருப்பை பிரதிபலிக்கின்ற தனித்துவமான ஒன்றுபட்ட முகமாக உருவெடுத்து, சுமார் 10,000 மக்களை ஈர்க்கின்ற முழுக் குடும்பத்திற்கும் நாள் முழுவதும் களிப்புத் தருகின்ற விக்டோரியாவின் மாபெரும் பல்கலாச்சார கொண்டாட்டங்களில் ஒன்றாக மாறியுள்ளது.

இருபது தமிழ் சமூக அமைப்புகளின் கூட்டு முயற்சியாக அமைகின்ற இந்த நிகழ்வு , விக்டோரியாவின் மூலைமுடுக்கெல்லாம் உள்ள தமிழ் ஆஸ்திரேலியர்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து பொங்கல் பண்டிகையை பலவகையான கலாசார நிகழ்ச்சிகள், பாரம்பரிய விளையாட்டுகள், உணவு மற்றும் பிற அங்காடிகள் , சிறுவர் பொழுதுபோக்கு அம்சங்கள் போன்ற போன்றவற்றுடன் கொண்டாடுவதுடன், எம் கலை,கலாசாரச் செழிப்பை மற்றைய சமூகங்களோடு பகிருகின்ற, எம் அர்ப்பணிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவதாக அமைகின்றது. மேலும் இந்த கொண்டாட்டம், பல்லினக் கலாசார சமூகங்களுக்கிடையே, கலைகள் மற்றும் கலாசசாரத்தின் பொதுவான கூறுகளான இயற்கையை மதித்தல், அறுவடையைக் கொண்டாடுதல் போன்றவற்றின் மூலம் புரிந்துணர்வை வளர்க்க முனைகின்றது.

“The Tamil Festival Australia 2026 (TF2026)” is a vibrant celebration of Thai Pongal, nature, and cultural diversity. Since its inception in 2010, the festival has grown into a unifying and distinctive representation of Tamil Australians, becoming one of Victoria’s most prominent multicultural events. Each year, it attracts around 8,000-10,000 attendees and offers a full day of family-friendly entertainment.

TF2026 is the result of collaboration among 20 Tamil community organisations, bringing together Tamil Australians from across Victoria to celebrate Thai Pongal. The event features a rich mix of cultural performances, traditional sports, food stalls, and engaging activities for children—highlighting the community’s commitment to sharing its artistic heritage with the wider public. Beyond showcasing Tamil culture, the festival also fosters connections between diverse communities through arts and shared values, including reverence for nature and the joy of the harvest.

Guidance

Performers of all ages are encouraged to participate, but only group performances will be accepted.
Performances shall reflect the Tamil Language and Heritage, diverse cultures of Australia.
The cumulative duration of all the performances will be around 4 hours (240 Minutes)
Participants should select clothing with care, ensuring that all programs are family-friendly and suitable for children.
Performers are responsible for providing their own costumes and props for their performances.
During rehearsals, the ‘TF2026 Cultural Programs Committee’ will make a reasonable effort to provide refreshments. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation and events.
‘TF2026 Cultural Programs Committee’ reserves the right to either reduce the allotted time or cancel a program after audition without providing a specific reason.
The Tamil Festival Australia 2026 may use photographs and videos taken during rehearsals or events for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.
Performers shall be expected to stay for the entire programme
If reimbursement of the cost of delivering the program is expected, this needs to be agreed with the TF2026 Cultural Programs Committee before the release of the final program schedule.
Requests for the program order on the day of the event will be considered. However, the final schedule will be determined at the discretion of the ‘TF2026 Cultural Programs Committee’.

Please note the dates above are indicative and may change. TF2026 will notify any changes on its website and individually to performers who have signed up.

எமது கலாசசாரத்தைப் மற்றைய சமூகங்களுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதற்கும் – பிற கலாச்சாரங்களை கொண்டாடுவதற்கான எம் அர்ப்பணிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் கலாசார புரிந்துணர்வை மேம்படுத்துதல்.
எமது சமூகம், பாரம்பரியம் மற்றும் கலை வடிவங்களின் தனித்துவமான சிறந்த அம்சங்களை கூட்டு முயற்சியாய் வெளிக்கொணர்வதன் மூலம் ‘தமிழ் ஆஸ்திரேலியர்கள்’ எனும் அடையாளத்தை வலுப்படுத்தல்.
‘தமிழ் மரபுத் திங்கள்’ ஐ குறிக்கும் வகையில் ஒரு மாத கால செயற்பாடுகளை முன்னெடுக்க முனைதல்.

To unite Tamil Australians and the broader community in grand celebration of Thai Pongal.
To display and pass on our rich art forms and cultural heritage to our younger generation.
To showcase and share the richness and versatility of our art forms and heritage with the wider community, and to strengthen multiculturalism
To promote cross-cultural understanding by sharing our culture and exemplifying respect for other cultural traditions.
To promote and strengthen the ‘Tamil Australian’ identity by bringing the best out of our community, heritage and art forms in a collaborative manner and making a real impact as a community.
To promote a month-long series of activities to mark the ‘Tamil Heritage Month.
